History

70 years of rubber

It all started in 1948

After training in the laboratory of well-known Neckarsulm motor cycle and car company NSU, it was Hans Bender who established the Bender tyre service and vulcanising company in a bombed-out washhouse on 1st June 1948.

During the post-war period, particularly the US army needed quick and uncomplicated tyre repairs. The growing economy in the region was also crying out for qualified providers. More and more people were able to afford their own motor cycle or car, and the range of new tyre sizes was increasing continuously. It was therefore hardly surprising that the Bender tyre company in Neckarsulm expanded rapidly.

The Bender company was continually taking on specialists for vulcanisation, i.e. the improvement of surface damage and for making general repairs to hoses. In order to keep up with the high level of demand and the growth of the industry, company founder Hans Bender took a high financial risk. He continuously invested in the latest machinery and advanced techniques. Due to the continuous expansion and non-stop further development, the Bender tyre service and vulcanisation company became one of the leading companies for scrap tyre disposal.

The basic business of the Bender company developed continuously over the years, meaning that the youngest of the Bender sons, Dipl.-Ing. Jürgen Bender, was able to focus on the recycling technology which he had developed himself, and made himself independent as Bender Reifen Recycling GmbH.
